Songs on the radio, catchy commercial jingles, and the sounds of the 1976 Bicentennial celebrations all help ground the story in its time. How do these musical and pop culture references shape Mary’s experience and emotional journey? Did any of the songs or cultural moments mentioned in the book spark memories or emotions from your own life?
